The Final(?) Side Quest - A Contest
« on: April 20, 2020, 02:52:34 PM »
We had some amazing ideas for the last 3 side quests spots and as a result have added Triple Scoop Trivia and noisavnI to the list. That leaves one spot remaining. And now it is your turn!!

The Prize: A side quest you get to name, help design and build with full credit on the credit page.

The Rules: This will be a timed, but running contest set up in multiple parts. The first part will be to gather ideas. The second part will be to create a voting poll to determine the top 2 contenders. The third part will be a final description of the side quests in action and a cry for your final vote. The winner will be decided at that point.

Everyone is encouraged to come up with a unique and interesting side quest idea and post that idea here. The idea should be written using the following format:

Quest Name: Name your side quest
Basic premise of the quest: a brief 2 or 3 sentence explanation of the side quest
Level of difficulty: Using the 4 main trails (Numeric, Alpha, Roman and Egyptian) where should your quest be located to match the surrounding difficulty level?
Type of quest: This is either "inclusive" meaning all levels are in the same directory and grouped together, or "sporadic" meaning they are spread throughout the site (think Secret Levels)

Once you have your post made and submitted, you are then to go through and "Say Thanks" to all the other posts with ideas you would like to see. You can thank your own, of course, and any others that you like. However, I discourage you from thanking all the submissions, as this is counter-productive.

Once this has run long enough, I will take a certain amount of ideas that have the most "thanks" and create a voting poll, moving us to step 2 in this process.

Get those creative juices flowing and have some fun with it!

Let's see those ACWoT Side Quest ideas!!  :ahhhh: :blob3:

NOTE: You do not have to submit an idea to "Thank" those of the others. But your like/vote is very important! If you are not submitting an idea, please still go through the submissions and like the ones that you would want to play anyway!

Quest Name: The Arcade
Basic premise of the quest: Similar vein to Triple Scoop Trivia, where three clues lead to the same answer (in this case, a video game or video game character, will be specified which in the specific levels). How many levels? Depends how well this is received!
Level of difficulty: Largely dependant on how much of a gamer the player is, but I'd say Numerics/Alphas level.
Type of quest: Inclusive.
Numerics: 39
Secrets: 1 (unsolved); 2 (not found)
Decade: 10

Quest name: Maps
Basic premise: A group of levels with a geographic view in some way. I would like to be around the Roman empire wich was quite big, using Google maps in some of them and how things look at a given or guessed date... AUC, etc. Google should be a friend in this levels.
Level of difficulty: Like Romans or Egypcians maybe...
Type of Quest: esporadic on Romans and Egypcians, perhaps 20 levels.

Quest Name: Maze (or Dungeon maybe... I suck at names, so open to suggestions here...)
Basic Premise: The quest would be similar to to a riddle trail but would incorporate a map (think Legend of Zelda style dungeon map). Solving puzzles in each room would open up various paths through the maze, with some paths ultimately being dead ends, and others leading to the end. Maybe with a couple harder hidden paths for bragging rights.
Difficulty: Numerics-Alphabets
Type of Quest: Inclusive
Numerics Solved: 37/40
Secrets Found: 1, 2
Secrets Solved: 1
Decade: 4/10

Please note, when I originally said "like" the post, I meant, of course the "Say Thanks" option you find at the top of each reply.

Thank you Arcani for pointing out my mistake.

Also, I just found out that you can't Thank your own post. So... I will go through and thank your posts for you, so MY thanks, is YOUR thanks.    and then my vote will only count in the end. Fair?

Thank you to TheMaster for pointing this out.

Update: Just in case the rest of you are wandering, yes Part 1 (the idea submission portion) is still open. I told you this will be a while.

You still have time to get your entries in!
